Integrated Bodywork Therapy
Release Your Tension and Pain to Experience a Greater Sense of Well-Being and Wonder
Whether you’re constantly holding on to stress, feel caught in a cycle of chronic pain, stiffness, or fatigue that leaves you feeling disconnected, frustrated, or even hopeless, or your body just doesn’t move the way it used to …
You don’t have to keep living in a state of discomfort, disconnection, or restriction.
I know how discouraging it can feel when your body seems to betray you, or when treatments only provide temporary relief. I’ve been there.
But lasting change is possible when you become more aware of your body as you move through the day and address the underlying causes of the tension, discomfort, poor alignment, inefficient movement patterns, and pain you’re experiencing through a gentle, whole-person approach to health and healing.
This is precisely what bodywork therapy is all about.
Bodywork therapy is an umbrella term that’s used to describe a variety of hands-on modalities that can help you:
Release persistent tension in your muscles, fascia, and connective tissues
Improve your posture, balance, circulation, and alignment without forcing your body into rigid positions
Relieve chronic discomfort and pain
Reduce feelings of anxiety, stress, and overwhelm
Increase mobility and ease in daily activities
Reconnect with your innate capacity for healing
Enhance your body's overall functioning and well-being
Unlike traditional physical and massage therapy techniques, bodywork therapy takes a whole-person approach to the “mind-body connection” by addressing your physical, mental, and emotional health.
It combines scientifically-based, soft, hands-on techniques with mindful movement education to help you feel lighter, freer, and more at home in your own body.
Whenever I work with a particular body part, I’m always aware of, and working with the layer-based, spiral pattern of that particular area as well as how it connects to the rest of your body and being. And at the gentle level I work, I go with the grain so the work is always painless.
All of this is why the bodywork therapy services I provide go far beyond simple symptom relief to address the root causes of chronic pain, discomfort, and tension, allowing you to experience a greater sense of freedom, well-being, and ease than you may have thought possible.
This is also why almost all my clients report feeling lighter after each session – like they’re literally floating as they walk out the door! That’s what we’re looking for.
Can Integrated Bodywork Therapy Help You?
As a bodywork therapist with over 40 years of hands-on experience, I bring a deeply personalized and compassionate approach to every session.
I developed Crohn’s disease in my teen years, which led me on a lifelong journey of healing.
After trying more modalities than I can count or remember, the most successful hands-on experience I ever had was with Aston-Patterning® and CranioSacral Therapy.
CranioSacral Therapy (CST) uses gentle touch and the natural rhythms of your body to release restrictions in your nervous system and fascia, helping you unwind and release deeply held patterns of discomfort, tension and pain.
Aston-Patterning® brings a slightly more compelling, active, hands-on approach than CST that facilitates improved range and ease of movement, easing restrictions, and promoting a greater sense of well-being and wonder.
By integrating these two powerful modalities into bodywork therapy sessions – many times in the same stroke – I can help you release patterns that lie deep in your body, so you can experience lighter, easier ways of moving that support lasting transformation long after you leave the table.
We’ll start each session with a “pre-test,” in which we’ll both pay attention to how you walk, so you can get in touch with what your body is doing as you move.
Once you’re on the table, you can choose any position that feels comfortable. You will be supported with pillows to help you relax and allow your body to engage in its natural healing process, as I talk you through what I’m doing as I do it, so you can be right there, in whatever part of your body we’re working on.
And at the end of our session, we’ll do a quick “post-test” that is designed to help make sure you’re comfortable walking, moving, and integrating the changes you’ve made into your daily movements, so you feel motivated to focus on your body and maintain the shifts and sense of lightness you’ve learned to evoke as you float out the door.
Each session will be tailored to your unique body, history, and goals.
Whatever you’re struggling with, I’m here to meet you exactly where you are so you can heal at your own pace.
I know how difficult it can be to open up, seek relief, and find someone you can actually work with – and I want to make the process as easy for you as possible.
So, if you’re ready to release the tension and pain, move through life with greater balance and ease, and experience a deeper sense of well-being and wonder, I encourage you to contact me, ask any questions you have, and schedule a bodywork session today.
I look forward to speaking with you and sharing how the integrative bodywork therapy services I provide can facilitate your journey of lasting relief, true healing, and feeling like a whole new you.
